This is the phone version of a diagram that normally draws the lineage as a
graph. Nothing is left out, but nothing is drawn either: instead of lines
between boxes, each person's ties are listed on their own record and you tap
through them. Someone with a master's from one lab and a doctorate from
another appears once, with both ties.
The bands are career stage rather than strict generation, so a few ties run
sideways within a band or even upward — two people here each hold a post the
other once held.
For two programs, the CDGA and Ohio State, only the succession of posts is
documented, so those chains carry no advising ties at all.
